Iuri Lioi joined Netflix Animation in 2019 as the Art Director of the animated feature “The Magician’s Elephant”, bringing 20 years of experience to the project. Prior to Netflix, Lioi worked on several film productions, being better known for his work on the “How to Train Your Dragon” trilogy, from Dreamworks Animation, where he worked for almost 10 years. In 2020 Lioi was nominated for Best Production Design Annie Award for his work on “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World”.
Lioi is currently a Production Designer at LAIKA, and he continues to pursue his passion for creating inspiring worlds and environments to help tell unforgettable stories.
